Please Remember Me

by CloudyShadow & Magic Sally    age  12

I could feel her muscles rippling underneath me, as we galloped after the wild horses. Her sleek white neck, her flying silver mane, we started to near the wild horses. Creeping up beside the last horse, a sharp pain shot through my leg, I winced but kept pushing Silver forward.

Galloping, galloping, faster and faster, nearing the front of the herd. Silver’s speeded dropped, “Don’t fail me now girl,” I pleaded, I felt Silver put power into her stride as we started to fly again.

Just as we started to get to the front of the herd I felt Silver slip, she lost her footing then we were crashing to the ground. All the horses around us jumped or dodged to the side, trying to avoid us.

“NO!” I screamed. Silver breathed heavily, she made no attempt to get up. I tried to get to her side but pain was shooting through my whole body. There was a shrill whinny of pain “Silver!” I forgot about my pain and crawled to her side. “Silver…” I sobbed, “Don’t go…Silver.”

Silver grunted as if trying to tell me “I’m sorry, please remember me.”

She neighed once more in pain then all the life in her was gone, she no longer breathed, her sides no longer moved. Her crystal blue eyes no longer blazed.

“NO! SILVER!”

I awoke screaming, Mum rushed into my bedroom and was soon cradling me and trying to calm me down.

“Where’s Silver?” I cried, trying to fight off Mum.

Mum released me then looked at me, that was when I realized, that I had just dreamt of my accident once again of Silver. Bursting into tears I threw myself back on my bed, this always happened to me. It never stopped, and probably never would stop, but I couldn’t forget Silver. Never.
